It’s midwinter break this week. With the kids out of school, we are taking advantage of the weather and unstructured time to enjoy a few of our favorite things, and a few new things.
We explored Saint Edwards Park for the first time. WOW! The playground was so cool that, even with icy fingers, the kids didn’t want to stop playing. We are looking forward to coming back when the weather is a little warmer. Don’t forget to bring your Discovery Pass if you want to park your vehicle in the park.
The toddlers recently started lessons at Goldfish Swim School in Shoreline, and it’s been a great fit for our family. The lessons are short, the pool is nice and warm, and they have fun. Big sister still prefers the Mountlake Terrace Pavilion, as she is a big fan of the deep end and Goldfish Swim doesn’t have a deep end, but it’s the ideal spot for younger kids and those who are learning.
This weekend, my daughter and I will join my sister to see Frozen the Musical. My sister and I have always loved theater (she even got a degree in theater arts), and I hope my daughter also catches this bug. Some of my favorite memories with my grandmother were of going to the 5th Avenue Theater after dinner, and all of my favorite family vacations were to the Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. I believe tickets are still available (hint hint).
And most importantly — hair cuts! Somehow, we always spend some time during breaks taking care of chores like getting hair cuts and new shoes. We love Bella & Max Salon in Bothell.
What are you up to this week with your family?
